President & CEO — David Woodall

President and CEO —
David Woodall

David Woodall is a proven technology executive with more than 25 years of experience leading rapidly-growing technology companies, growing overseas markets and delivering industry-standard enterprise products.

Prior to joining Qovia in 2005, Woodall was a partner at Threshold Partners, LLC, an exclusive team of veteran technology executives who provide high-level consulting services to early and mid-stage growth companies. Before being invited to join Threshold Partners, Woodall was CEO and President of Fidelia Technology and he served as President and CEO of Trinagy, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard immediately prior to the company’s planned IPO. Mr. Woodall’s previous employers include large public companies such as Motorola, public technology companies such as Ascom Timeplex and Racal Data Communications and startups such as Datacraft, Americas.

Mr. Woodall earned a BA in psychology from Rutgers University and he went on to earn his MBA from Southeastern University. Woodall speaks Portuguese, Spanish and French and in his spare time pursues music, studying classical piano.

Chief Operating Officer — Stephen P. MankChief Operating Officer — Stephen P. Mank

Steve Mank brings more than 25 years of executive management, marketing and strategic business development experience in networking and application systems and their associated management environments. He has specialized in helping to lead emerging growth companies into market-dominating positions. As Qovia’s Chief Operating Officer, Mank will be responsible for product management and marketing, operations, manufacturing, strategic business development and planning.

Prior to joining Qovia in 2005, Mank served as Chief Marketing Officer for Panacya, devising and implementing the commercial launch and go-to-market strategy for the application server-based performance management startup. Before Panacya, he worked with Qovia CEO David Woodall as Senior Vice President of Product Operations at Trinagy, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard immediately prior to the company’s planned IPO.

Mr. Mank’s previous employers include large public companies such as Motorola and Newbridge, public technology companies such as Xyplex Networks, Hayes Corporation, and Global Exchange, and consumer product companies including Bose Corporation.

Mank earned a BA in The College of Social Studies from Wesleyan University and an MBA in Marketing Management and Finance from the University of Southern California.

CTO — Choon Shim

Chief Technology Officer & Senior VP of Engineering —
Choon Shim


Mr. Shim is responsible for the company's technology direction and development of the Qovia product line.

Mr. Shim was previously President at Widearea Data Systems where he designed and developed collaboration platform software. Prior to joining Widearea Data Systems, he was the Senior Development Manager and Principal Engineer for Merant.

Shim is a successful technology leader with 20+ years experience architecting, building, and delivering large scale infrastructure software products. He has extensive hands-on technical development skills and has successfully managed software teams for well-known enterprise software companies including BMC Software and EMC Corporation.

Mr. Shim was the author of Community Works and Express/OS shareware used widely throughout the world. Mr. Shim is a frequent speaker at VoIP and networking conferences for academic and industry; he recently gave a keynote speech to SNPD conference and chaired VoIP Security Panel at Supercomm05. Mr. Shim has earned a B.S. in Computer Science and M.S in Electrical Engineering.

Chief Financial Officer —
David L. Talley

David Talley has over 20 years of business and corporate financial management experience that includes specialization in the development and implementation of corporate strategies and policies, corporate and financial transactions, information and reporting systems, testing and due diligence procedures.

Mr. Talley provides these services to Qovia as a Partner with the firm of Gaffey & Associates, PLC. His responsibilities include the delivery and oversight of the firm's financial, tax, business advisory and compliance services with a particular specialization in Technology, Emerging Growth companies, and Strategic Transaction services.

Prior to joining Gaffey & Associates, Talley was the Managing Director of WorldPay Inc., a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBSG). There, he was responsible for the leadership and management of the company's operations throughout the Western Hemisphere. Mr. Talley also served in numerous global, senior advisory roles where he was responsible for governance, strategy, & business development, as well as compliance. He has a strong background in managerial and corporate finance, business analysis, strategic management, and systems development and implementation. Talley has held various senior-level financial positions with Clear Channel Worldwide and predecessor organizations for more than 12 years he also worked in a corporate capacity on merger & acquisition activities for these SEC regulated companies. Mr. Talley began his professional career with a "Big 4" accounting firm.

Mr. Talley holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Information Systems as well as Masters degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of West Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Certified Information Technology Professional. Additionally, he is pursuing and a registered candidate for the Certified Financial Manager and Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor designations.

Vice President, North American Sales —
David A. Collins

David Collins is responsible for developing and growing Qovia’s direct, channel and OEM revenue streams. Collins brings 20 years of Information Technology sales leadership to Qovia, representing the full spectrum of business, from fast-growing start-ups to world-wide enterprises. 

Prior to joining Qovia, Collins spent eight years in sales management roles at Cisco Systems where he pioneered Cisco’s Advanced Technology program. He also developed a sales model that was adopted across the U.S., providing $3B+ in revenue from technologies such as VoIP, Security, Optical and Wireless. Prior to Cisco, Collins served as a Principal in Advanced Graphical Applications, Vice President of Sales at The SOFTA Group (acquired by Aegon) and National Indirect Sales Manager at Interleaf, which ranked 7th on Inc.’s list of fastest growing public companies during his tenure.

Mr. Collins has served as a thought leader for Information Security and has spoken at more than 40 industry events in the past three years.

Mr. Collins has also served on the Chicago Council of Technology Advisors, Metropolitan Planning Council’s Technology Committee and Network21, an association that focuses on delivering technology to disadvantaged students via policy changes. Collins has a BA in Political Science from Brandeis University.
