In 2006, bytes & words partnered with founder Kimberly Bell of SPEECH PATHways, a leading Maryland Speech Pathology Clinic, to kickstart marketing for the Clinic’s diverse therapy services and community programs. We first developed a corporate brand and applied it to several affiliated programs and then created a highly visual and user-friendly website, completely rewriting and redeveloping content. We integrated Constant Contact Email Marketing to get the word out about programs, classes and the philanthropic efforts and supported several phases of Facebook graphic redesign.
Through the years we have worked with SPEECH PATHways to focus digital and print marketing — including brochure and exhibit design — to help grow the business into various channels. In 2012, the Clinic moved to a much expanded facility in Westminster, Maryland, securing its place of prominence in the business community and the lives of Maryland kids and families.
bytes & words has contributed significant time since 2008 to the SPEECH PATHways Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that seeks to improve the lives of Carroll County kids with special needs.
In 2009, bytes & words partnered with founder Marie Noplock of The Maryland Therapy Network (TMTN), a Baltimore-area Speech Pathology Clinic and Job Service, to quickly and economically re-create their online presence. We built the new website with a simple template backed by the Joomla content management system and pumped up the color/branding to give it visual appeal. The new site highlights its dual mission of working with families and agencies along with placing skilled staff throughout the region.
From creating a user-friendly website, we went on to assist TMTN with its marketing efforts by developing an eye-catching, informative brochure and a tabletop exhibit. bytes & words continues to host the site and provides updates/advice as needed; in 2012 we optimized the site with key terms in partnership with TMTN’s marketing agency.
In 2008, bytes & words answered a call from the SJCAA to establish the first online presence for this nonprofit association and breathe new life into communications for its 2000+ membership as they prepared to celebrate their Bicentennial Reunion. We clarified branding to convey “200 Years of Women Learners,” explored their archives to develop a site map and engaging content, and designed their first website. With the addition of Constant Contact for ongoing Alumnae e-communications, the site was instrumental in publicizing the momentous 200-year reunion (which we were honored to attend).
In the past 5 years, we’ve worked with a succession of volunteers and management to improve SJCAA communications: Managing the website and email communications, adding/integrating Facebook, and designing the SJCAA’s flagship publication, The Valley Echo, for print and online delivery
In 2012, bytes & words worked with a new Communications Committee and Board to redevelop the website into an expanded, dynamic presence, built on a content management system. The new site — featuring prayer requests, article commenting, online donations and membership payments and photo galleries — has been very well-received. We continue to work with the SJCAA to develop avenues of communication to capture the memories and accomplishments of these women, who range in age from their 50s into the 90s.
Tri-fold, bi-fold, pamphlets and whatever you wish to leave behind: bytes & words designs them all with a focus on your brand and marketing strategy. Art Director Joseph McCormick creates visually attractive presentations out of your bare-bones content for professional results that customers are sure to want to take home and remember you by.
Despite all that is digital, there are still some publications – magazines, newsletters, menus, magazine and program ads — that require a keen editorial vision and eye for design. bytes & words offers over 25 years of experience with print layout, graphic design and copywriting. With each job we offer options for print runs and printers according to your budget and timeline.
bytes & words can also suggest innovative measures to bring your publication to life online and save paper/print/postage costs. We’ve implemented online delivery of the Valley Echo magazine for the St. Joseph College Alumnae Association, through a PDF viewer that lets readers “page” easily through the online version, download, bookmark and print (see it in action).

She has worked hundreds of hours for us, completely designing a website from start to finish, and we continue to work with her on updates on a regular basis. She is easy to contact, works well with a very mixed group of paid staff and volunteers, and is alway…
bytes & words has been such a terrific business partner over the years. With a little crazy Italian family like ours, Mollie & Joseph have kept a very professional focus for us. The results speak for themselves. We are very pleased….
Yea!!! I’m THRILLED! As Steve Martin would say: ” I am somebody”! WOW!
It was a pleasure to work together with Mollie on the Carroll County Restaurant Week promotion. She went above and beyond our expectations for designing a new website, handling social media marketing on the Facebook page, and keeping all of the information on these sites current. Mollie is very thorough in everything she does and can be depended upon to get the job done. She is dedicated, methodical, and very capable.
I have had SOO many compliments on TMTN’s new website. It is truly a Christmas gift I am cherishing!!!
