Global Awareness in Healthcare (Cigna)

Challenge

An international health insurance corporation recognized the value of enriching employees with an understanding of cultural differences in healthcare in different markets and countries. They approached GP Strategies for an engaging solution.

My Role

I supported the lead UX and Senior Designer and stakeholders to develop content for a 1-hour “world travel-themed” course for gamified asynchronous learning. Worked with remote team of managers, designers, programmers and SMEs located across North America and the World, in varying time zones. Designed a course with creative presentation and interaction within the constraints of a standard LMS template, considering translation and 508 compliance issues and delivery on various internal/external networks.

Action(s)

Conducted live remote interviews with subject matter expert teams (doctors, healthcare reps, nurses) in major developing countries around the world to determine scope and content. Storyboarded a 1-hour course with travel-based theme, central narrator, and five different cultural contexts/narrators. Wrote knowledge checks, and worked with graphic design and programming team to gamify, produce, and pilot the beta course.

Result(s)

The resulting gamified training, delivered by company LMS, provided an eye-opening look at healthcare across markets that helped associates engage with customers and support them in service delivery.
